Hello everyone, here’s one of the components of my final project- an audio piece that I created that is a component of my overall show. It might seem obvious to some how this could play into my movie, but not so much to others.
When I created this, I intended for it to be a detail in my film that really led towards a part containing some action. I think I did a good job in a few specific areas of this audio bit. First, for a guy with a somewhat deep voice, I think I did a pretty good job at manipulating my vocal pitches in Audacity to create a feminine-sounding radio operator. Secondly, I think I did a good job at recreating radio static and layering that into the background, for a more real-life sound element in the audio. Finally, I think I did pretty well at making the linguistics of the call sound official. I mean, I’ve only got so much experience with police radios, but to me it doesn’t sound unbelievable? Maybe I’m biased.
Overall, this was a fun small piece for me to make for my project. In terms of skills that I’ve developed, I had previously not had any experience in creating audio of any kind, nor editing it. This class forced me to learn a lot about it, and I hope that it is something that I will be able to use later on in life.
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for the show premiere tomorrow morning!
