Hey guys, today we’re going to be taking a look at a quick tutorial for the cartoon head design assignment!
First, I would suggest that you guys start by picking an animal that you want to give a cartoon head. Arbitrarily, I selected a bull. Here’s the picture that I got off of Bing.
Now that we have real photos, we need to find a cartoon version to cut out and super-impose.
You are going to want to use the marquee tool or the lasso-looking loop, to trace the outline of the bull closely. I do not have a mouse, so my tracing was not very precise, but I’m certain that you can do better. Make sure the ends of the loop meet at the point in which you started.
At the top of the screen, click ‘Edit’ and then select ‘Copy’.
Turn off the layer that holds the cartoon bull, so that you can get rid of all of the extra stuff once you have the area you need copied.
Select edit once more, and hit ‘Paste’. You can then move the copied part around, and adjust it as desired.
If you follow all of the steps above, your final product should be something along the lines of below.
